APPOINTED TO BE READ IN CHURCHES.

THE KING JAMES VERSION,

also known as

1611 AV, AUTHORIZED VERSION

Commissioned by King James I of England in 1604 and completed in 1611, the Authorized King James Version of the Bible was created by a team of nearly fifty scholars from Oxford, Cambridge, and Westminster. This translation drew from a wide range of biblical manuscripts, including the Masoretic Text for the Old Testament and the Textus Receptus for the New Testament, while also consulting earlier English translations such as the Tyndale Bible and the Geneva Bible. The translators' rigorous and collaborative process ensured a text that was both accurate and eloquent. Since its publication, the King James Bible has had a profound impact on Christianity and the English language, known for its majestic prose and poetic cadence. Appointed to be read in churches, it remains a foundational text for preaching, teaching, and personal devotion, continuing to inspire and guide believers worldwide.
  • Complete New- and Old Testament, with a Swedish Bible book index, to facilitate and to encourage the reading of the King James Bible for all the Swedish-speaking people. The English Bible book abbreviations are shown in brackets. Accompanied by the Preface and Chapter Outline, rendered according to the first published edition in 1611.
  • Red letter edition, all the words spoken by Jesus in the New Testament are highlighted in red text to clearly emphasise them.
  • The Bible, the King James Version (KJV), also known as the Authorized Version (AV), was completed in 1611 and is the most influential and widely distributed translation of the Holy Scriptures; a proven Biblical text.
  • The King James Bible, was based on the correct line of manuscript New Testament Majority Text (Textus Receptus) and Old Testament Masoretic Text. It has also been compared with the earlier Bible translations and revised to achieve a higher degree of accuracy and formal correspondence with the original languages, resulting in a perfect Bible text, without error, which has now for over 400 years yielded unrivalled fruit to the Lord.

1611 AV

The Authorised King James Bible

The King James Bible was produced in 1611 under the command of a king, His Majesty King James I of England, whose 47 translators worked for 7 years to compile the Bible that today bears his name. Who else but a king, and by God's providence, could have undertaken this work in the 17th century?

"Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?" - Ecc 8:4 (KJV).

That God has had his hand on his word is easy to see, as the most printed book in the world is the Bible and the most printed Bible in the world is the King James Version, it is also the most read Bible in the world.

God has preserved His word in this English language text and by its fruits unto the LORD, the text of this holy book is proven, unrivalled and completely without error.

The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. - Psalms 12:6-7. (KJV).
